Furikake Party Mix

Ingredients

Sauce:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 2 T soy sauce

Mix:

  • 2 boxes Crispix cereal (18 oz)

or

  • 1 (18 oz) box Crispix and 2 cups each sesame chips, 2 cups pretzels, 2 cups nuts (or any other thing you'd like to add)
  • 1 bottle furikake mix
  • Sesame seeds to sprinkle on mixture

Instructions

  1. Heat first 5 ingredients, stirring to mix, just until mixture boils.
  2. Spread cereal into baking pans.
  3. Drizzle heated mixture over cereal.
  4. Sprinkle furikake and sesame seeds over glazed cereal and toss until well mixed.
  5. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes so all of mixture is evenly cooked.
  6. Cool before storing in airtight container.

Notes

I used (1) 12 oz box of Rice Chex and (1) 12 oz box of Corn Chex + 2 cups wasabi peas + 2 cups honey comb cereal + 2 cups pretzels for the party mix in the picture & I would use salted butter instead of unsalted butter!
