- 1 large (approx 3 lb.) head cabbage
- 6 green onions
- 1 pkg. oriental instant noodle (any flavor)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- 6 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Finely shred the cabbage; you should have 3 quarts.
- Cut the green onions (including some of the tops) into thin diagonal slices.
- In a large salad bowl combine the shredded cabbage and the green onions.
- Break the uncooked oriental noodles (save the seasoning for other uses) into small pieces and mix into the cabbage.
- For the dressing, stir together the sugar, salad oil, sesame oil (if used) vinegar, soy sauce and pepper. Pour over cabbage mixture and toss well.
- Cover and chill 2 to 4 hours until wilted.
- Stir before serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
