Wednesday, May 27 | 11:30 am- 1:00 pm: 500 Years of Tea with Tango Tanimura. JASO’s Women’s Leadership Council is hosting Tanimura-san, a 20th-generation Takayama chasen master, who will share the story, philosophy, and craftsmanship behind the bamboo whisk used in Japanese tea culture for over 500 years. Sunday, June 7 | 11:00 am to 1:30 pm: From Portland Taiko – People of the Drum is a free outdoor concert featuring four drumming groups from different cultural traditions. The event will take place Sunday June 7th from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm in downtown Portland on SW Main next to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Free event but RSVP are appreciated.
